I am thrilled to share that Music Education Works has published my recent article, “Are We Producing Anxious Students?” The article discusses practical approaches to teaching young music students who are struggling with mental health and our need, as teachers, to adapt to a changing environment.
A very big congratulations to graduating senior, Neel Mondal, on an outstanding senior recital at Hall Piano Company! Neel performed an extensive body of solo piano works, as well as a duet with his sister, Sneha. Neel will be attending MIT in the Fall of 2019, where he will be pursing a degree in engineering.
Congratulations to all of the students who participated in the LFMC State Convention at the UNO School of the Arts this weekend! My studio was lucky to have three winners in the Piano Solo category! Jared Soh (pictured) won first place in the Primary II level; Aiden Michler won first place in the Primary IV level; and Neel Mondal won first place in the Musically Advanced I level.

I am thrilled to be presenting what I hope is the first of many workshops on healthy practice techniques at Loyola University New Orleans this week. The Art of Practice addresses specific tools that students of all ages and instruments can use to help prioritize their mental health and make the most of their practice time. Open to the general public!
A big congratulations to Destiny Sanders, who received a scholarship to attend MASNO’s New Orleans Piano Institute at Loyola University New Orleans this month. She has been working hard in both her private lessons at the Institute and in her master classes.
